img Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005
This act made significant changes to American bankruptcy laws, affecting both consumer and business bankruptcies
img Electronic Fund Transfer Act
This act provides a basic framework establishing the rights, liabilities, and responsibilities of participants in electronic fund transfer systems. The primary objective of this title, however, is the provision of individual consumer rights.
img Fair Credit Billing Act
The Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA) was enacted as an amendment to the Truth in Lending Act. Its purpose is to protect consumers from unfair billing practices and to provide a mechanism for addressing billing errors in "open end" credit accounts, such as credit card or charge card accounts.
img Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
This act seeks to eliminate abusive debt collection practices by debt collectors, to insure that those debt collectors who refrain from using abusive debt collection practices are not competitively disadvantaged, and to promote consistent State action to protect consumers against debt collection abuses.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) is designed to promote accuracy used in consumer reports as prepared by The Consumer Reporting Agencies (CRAs) and to ensure the privacy of said information. The most common type of CRA is the credit bureau.
